KETTLE CHIPS

Kettle chips are my go-to munchies food, with my favorite flavor being jalapeno. Bonus points if you can get some made fresh and local. Kettle brand will always do the trick to stop the munchies though. Wyatt Early

SMOKED SALMON

Good smoked salmon is hard to find – especially in the contiguous United States. But I do not have that problem. Living in Alaska has many benefits, such as access to an ample amount of salmon. For me, smoked salmon has always been a go-to feel good food. I was raised with it and I will raise my children with it. No matter the occasion, if there is some delicious homemade smoked sockeye anywhere near me, the package in which it resides will soon find its way to empty. The sweet, smoky flavor of fish is to die for. Stores around the country do carry some varieties, but save yourself the disappointment and buy some raw fish (or catch it if you have that luxury), google a recipe and smoke it up yourself. You will enjoy it 100 times more.

RAINBOW SHERBET 

I was raised with limited dairy products as a child, so most of the time I would have some sort of milk substitute like soy. Needless to say, I wasn’t a huge fan of ice cream as a result. For the most part, I’d only be able to eat a little bit of chocolate ice cream before I started to feel uneasy in my stomach. Flash forward to now, and I have begun to expand my horizons. I am still not the biggest fan of ice cream, but will indulge in it every so often. During one outing, I ordered rainbow sherbet from a stand and fell in love. Just recently, I poked my head into the ice cream aisle at the grocery store and discovered that they sell gallon buckets of rainbow sherbet. I have now been thoroughly enjoying my nights ever since – high as a kite – curing my dry mouth with tasty sherbet!

ORGANIC BABY CARROTS & TJ’S MEDITERRANEAN HUMMUS

While it’s not an indulgent, sugar laden snack, my favorite munchie to dive into when baked is organic baby carrots and Trader Joe’s Mediterranean hummus. The union of a creamy, flavorful spread and the crisp crunch of a carrot provides a fun snacking experience you can consume to your heart’s content and not feel guilty about since it’s all plant based! My pup loves carrots too, so I can let her have every third or fourth carrot and we can enjoy snacktime together.
