(Tropical Sunset X Uncle Purple)
Our monthly concentrate feature has been blessed with all sorts of incredible extracts from shatter to hash to rosin. This month, we’re revisiting our good friends at Evermore for another delectable batch of their ‘Crystals in Sauce.’
0.012% gamma terpinene
Purple Eclipse is a cross of Tropical Sunset and Uncle Purple, two of Maryland’s favorite heavy hitters from Evermore.
The dankness of the lineage is deepened by Tropical Sunset’s cross of Purple Punch and Sunset Sherbet, and Uncle Purple’s cross of Larry OG and GDP.
The Larry OG brings a nice lemon flavor into the mix, while the Purple Punch and Sunset Sherbert burst with sweet flavors and aromas.
Opening the jar immediately flooded my senses with smells of tropical fruit, followed by strong notes of a sweet, almost pixie-stick like smell. Dabbing this on a low temperature quartz banger really brought that smell through in the flavor.
The combination of limonene, b-myrcene, trans-caryophyllene and linalool creates a mix of sweet and spicy sensations on the palate. This blender of terpenes helped me with back pain and didn’t drag me down or hinder me from a busy work day (at home of course).
One thing I always look out for with ‘sauce’ is the crystal to terpene ratio. You need the perfect ratio of sauce coating the crystals, while still leaving a small puddle for dipping and mixing in the jar. This batch was a prime example of the perfect ratio, featuring each crystal shimmering with bright gold terpenes.
Due to the large size of some of the crystals, I chose to crush and mix them together with the sauce – allowing me to get the most consistency in dosing and flavor from dab to dab.
